If you are a party to a divorce and there are still children at home, your priority will be the best interests of your children. Where will they live? How much time will they spend with each parent? How can you best remain a presence in their lives as a non-custodial parent? It’s possible to work out effective custody and visitation arrangement directly with your ex-spouse, but it’s often best to work with an experienced and knowledgeable family lawyer.
At Bailey & Galyen, we bring more than 30 years of experience to men and women in Texas who are involved in family law disputes, including custody and visitation disagreements. The lawyers in our family law practice offer more than 200 years of combined practice experience to men and women across Texas. We understand the emotional impact of legal matters that affect your time with your children. We offer compassionate, yet aggressive advocacy at all stages of a custody or visitation dispute, from efforts to establish a temporary custody and visitation arrangement to motions to modify or amend an existing divorce decree. We know that every case is different, so we’ll take the time to listen carefully to the details of your story, so that we can formulate the best strategy to get the outcome you want. We place a premium on personal service and attention, responding to all calls and e-mails as quickly as possible.
Our Representation in Custody and Visitation Matters
The language of custody and visitation has officially changed in Texas. What used to be known as custody is now referred to by the courts as “managing conservatorship.” The concept of visitation is now known as “access.”
We represent custodial and non-custodial parents in all matters related to managing conservatorships and access. We’ll be your advocate in all negotiations with your ex (and your ex’s counsel), seeking to develop and implement custody and visitation arrangements that are in your child’s best interests, but which also protect and promote your role as a parent.
We also handle all motions or requests for modification or enforcement of an existing custody or visitation order.
