For some clients, collaborative divorce may be a suitable alternative to the litigation process or to mediation.  Collaborative divorce is a process whereby parties and their respective counsel commit to resolving disputes without resorting to going to court.   It is a way of practicing law that allows both of the parties in a family dispute agree to work out differences using cooperative strategies rather than adversarial techniques and litigation. An atmosphere conducive to collaboration can create more options and a positive step toward for settlement early in the process. When clients and their attorneys see the value of collaboration, this paves the way for a settlement of a family conflict to occurs in an efficient, cooperative manner.
