Andrea Aguilar was admitted into the Texas bar in 2010 and has exclusively practiced immigration law. Andrea attended Baylor University where she graduated magna cum laude and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2005. She obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s School of Law in 2010.

Before becoming an attorney, Andrea was a Peace Corps Volunteer and lived and worked in Honduras from 2005-2007. She worked with individuals living in poverty and trying to survive in an unstable environment. The younger generation’s desire to go to the United States to build a better life was overwhelming. This is what inspired Andrea to practice immigration law. In law school, Andrea worked for two years at the St. Mary’s School of Law Immigration and Human Rights Clinic. She joined the clinic as a student in 2008 and then became a teaching assistant in 2009. After graduating law school she worked at the clinic for three more years as a teaching fellow and supervising attorney.

After leaving St. Mary’s, Andrea opened her own practice for a year and then joined the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a non-profit immigration legal aid firm. She worked as the Managing Attorney where she helped establish the Dallas and Fort Worth branch offices.

Andrea is bilingual in the Spanish language and has extensive experience in immigration law including removal defense, family-based immigration, consular practice, waivers, affirmative and defensive asylum, deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA), and immigrant visas for victims of crime, domestic violence or trafficking (VAWAs, Us, and Ts).
