Patricia Barbee is a native Texan who was raised in McAllen, TX, nine miles from the Mexican border in far South Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and worked for several years for magazines and newspapers before attending St. Mary's University School of Law. Ms. Barbee received her J.D. from St. Mary's in 2007, and was admitted to the Texas Bar that same year.
As an immigration attorney Ms. Barbee focuses on permanent residence and naturalization petitions, guiding clients through the process from application to interview and approval. She has effectively represented hundreds of clients at their citizenship and permanent resident interviews, and has also successfully represented clients in immigration court. She is well versed in U.S. immigration laws and understands how each client’s particular facts can affect his or her ability to file successful petitions for themselves and their families. Her years of experience handling affirmative petitions filed with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service and her professional relationships with the Service’s officers are key to her ability to successfully represent clients seeking immigration benefits to which they are entitled.
Ms. Barbee gained fluency in Spanish while studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. Her appreciation for the practice of immigration law is founded in her Rio Grande Valley upbringing, which afforded her a first-hand understanding of the issues affecting her clients.
Ms. Barbee is a member of the American Bar Association and a charter member of the Immigration & Nationality Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
