Antonio Martinez, Jr. was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas. After serving 4 years in the United States Navy, he attended Pan American University where he earned his Bachelor in Business Administration in 1982. Thereafter, Mr. Martinez worked for I.B.M. working under contract to provide mission critical flight software and support software for the Space Shuttle Program and eventually obtained his Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Antonio gained invaluable insights into computing system operations and business systems that he now employs while working in commercial, contract, or bankruptcy litigation. Antonio attended law school at St. Mary's University School of Law, from which he earned his doctorate of jurisprudence in 1998.
Mr. Martinez believes that the quality of the representation of the client determines the viability of a firm's practice of law. Mr. Martinez began his career as a solo practitioner criminal defense attorney in Hidalgo County, Texas working in state and federal courts. During this time, Mr. Martinez also handled Immigration Deportation matters often requiring resolutions to serious pending or disposed criminal cases with strong implications on deportation or exclusion proceedings. Mr. Martinez handled felony and misdemeanor criminal cases. In addition to criminal matters, Mr. Martinez represented clients in family and personal injury matters, primarily custody litigation, child support, enforcement, restraining orders, contested and uncontested divorces, adoptions, and modifications concerning child support and child custody applying Texas law and the Hague Convention.
Mr. Martinez eventually included personal injury and commercial litigation into his practice as well as the practice of bankruptcy, where he uses his knowledge gained from his years of experience and education to work out the best possible solution for a client's case(s).
Mr. Martinez was admitted to the State Bar in 1998 and is licensed to practice before the United States District Court, Southern District of the State of Texas. Mt. Martinez received his undergraduate degree, BBA with a major in Computer Information Systems, from Pan American University in 1982, his MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University School of Law. Mr. Martinez is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
Mr. Martinez practices out of the McAllen, Texas office in the Bankruptcy departments, where he applies his past experience in contract law, corporate law, and general civil litigation to efficiently provide tailored solutions for corporate or individual clients.
